Baltimore, MD Martial Arts Lessons | Syllabus
We have a revolving yearly Basics Class curriculum that is intended to transform any new student into a competent ground fighter. The yearly lesson plan is divided into a 16-session rotating curriculum to prevent stagnation and build up a student base with different combative styles. This ensures that you will be provided with a variety of training partners of different skill levels and technique preferences so you will be prepared for anything! It also allows new students to come in and have a functional gameplan within 16 classes rather than forcing students to "figure it out" themselves.
Session 1 Class 1 - Mount Escapes
This class begins with the safety mount position. Then we will cover freeing your legs from the grapevines. We will then drill the hip escape, hooking the foot, and trapping the arm and bridging.
Session 1 Class 2 - Back Mount Escapes
This class covers the fundamentals of escaping the worst position in Jiu Jitsu - the rear mount. We will cover concepts from the back and then delve into specific techniques which include the 2-on-1 escape, the duck-under, and the scoot-down escape.
Session 1 Class 3 - Armbar Escapes
Four different armbar escapes will be taught in this class. Make sure to check out the video to see one for yourself. See one of our instructors teach a Jiu Jitsu Armbar Escape.
Session 2 Class 15 - Takedowns
Takedowns from a wrestling perspective. We will introduce the double-leg and single-leg. Due to the complexity of the movement, the majority of the class will center around drilling to ensure all participants will have functional double and single leg shots after the class. One of our BJJ Black Belts teaches a Body Lock takedown.
These are just a few examples of the classes that we have organized for our students to maximize their time. You will have the comfort of knowing that there is a roadmap to achieving your martial arts goals when you train with us. Give us a call today for more information (443) 283-1450.
